Meshless analysis of casting process considering non-Fourier heat transfer
Casting is considered as a major manufacturing process. Thermal analysis of a solidifying medium is of great importance for appropriate design of casting processes. The conventional governing equation of a solidifying medium is based on the Fourier heat conduction law, which does not account for the phase-lag between the heat flux and the temperature gradient. In this paper, the concept of phas...

متن کاملCharge and heat transport in soft nanosystems in the presence of time-dependent perturbations
BACKGROUND Soft nanosystems are electronic nanodevices, such as suspended carbon nanotubes or molecular junctions, whose transport properties are modulated by soft internal degrees of freedom, for example slow vibrational modes. Effects of the electron-vibration coupling on the charge and heat transport of soft nanoscopic systems are theoretically investigated in the presence of time-dependent ...
متن کاملA truly meshless method formulation for analysis of non-Fourier heat conduction in solids
The non-Fourier effect in heat conduction is important in strong thermal environments and thermal shock problems. Generally, commercial FE codes are not available for analysis of non-Fourier heat conduction. In this study, a meshless formulation is presented for the analysis of the non-Fourier heat conduction in the materials. The formulation is based on the symmetric local weak form of the sec...
متن کاملVariational principles for thermal transport in nanosystems with heat slip flow.
Some years ago, Prigogine minimum entropy production principle was generalized by Lebon and Dauby to account for the nonlocal heat transport equation derived by Guyer and Krumhansl. Here, this criterion is extended to incorporate the effects of heat slip flow along the walls. This formulation is shown to be useful for the description of steady heat flow in nanosystems, where the heat slip flow ...
